Why use a recruiter?
A good recruiter is a professional net-worker, so if you are reluctant or too busy to test the job market, recruiters can put you in touch with "hidden" opportunities.
With a quality recruiter, these services are free. Recruiter fees are always paid by the employer and never affect your salary.
Executive recruiters work directly with the hiring authority. This allows your resume to be on the top of the stack and will often make you one of the finalists.
Recruiters can also give you a behind-the-scenes perspective on a company.
We provide you with insights and trends about each specific industry. This knowledge allows you to compare your skills to those in high demand.
Submitting your resume gets you registered in our database. This places you on our call-back list when we have opportunities that match your search criteria.
A good recruiter is a lifelong professional ally. By maintaining contact with us, we can refer you and friends to career changing opportunities.

How can a recruiter help?
To get the edge. A reputable recruiter has a long-term relationship with its client companies, and provides invaluable insight as a result. And a recruiter saves you time and energy by making sure that you are a good fit for a particular position. A good recruiter should provide resume and interview assistance as well.

What does a recruiter do exactly?
Many companies have positions they can’t or don’t want to fill through the usual methods of advertising and networking. Professional recruiters are called in to help fill positions demanding special talents or experiences and training, to fill positions companies want to keep confidential, or simply because their own staffing departments are overworked. Recruiters find people who might not otherwise be looking for a new career opportunity. And sometimes candidates use us as part of their overall job search plan. A professional recruiter is a valuable resource in salary and benefit negotiations.

What does it cost?
Nothing. A professional recruiter does not charge candidates for their services. All fees (including reasonable travel expenses for your interviews) are paid by our corporate clients.

How many recruiters should I work with?
Probably no more than one. And insist that they only send your resume to companies and opportunities you have specifically authorized. Why? Your integrity, and the integrity of your search firm, are at stake. Should a dynamic company receive two or three of your resumes from different sources, you may not get the interview at all. Rather than make the effort to decide how to approach you, the company will more than likely move on to other candidates.

Am I the recruiter’s only candidate for the opportunity?
Probably not. Your recruiter will have several candidates to present for consideration, since most companies want to have a choice. Each of you will have different backgrounds and qualities -- which a good recruiter will be adept at highlighting throughout your interviewing process. Each of you is a star in your own right. Otherwise you would not have made it to our short list.

What if I don’t make it?
The mere fact that you have been submitted for consideration speaks volumes about your strengths and capabilities. The experience and qualities your recruiter recognized will almost certainly be considered for future opportunities. Indeed, a given company may feel that you are not a "fit" for the original position you applied for, yet have other opportunities to explore together. In any case, a professional recruiter always tells you honestly what your status is and why. If there are areas in need of improvement, they will guide you and continue an effective search.

How can I best use a recruiter?
First, be honest. A recruiter functions as a "match-maker" between you and the client, and mutual trust between all parties is imperative. Second, make your relationship a true partnership. The more we know about each other, the better the chances of success. Make sure your recruiter knows about all your phone and in-person interviews, or any other contacts with prospective employers. If your recruiter can’t, or won’t, help you prepare for your interview, even a simple phone screening interview, find one who will.

The goal for everyone involved is to fill a great career opportunity with the best possible candidate. Keep you recruiter up to date on your family's needs and wants, changes in your status at your present position, feedback on interviewing in progress -- if it affects you, if affects your job search.
