Five
steps that will help you achieve success
in the recruiting process.
Recruiting • Profiling • Feedback • References • Closing
5 CLOSING Offer and acceptance are never a "sure
thing". A thorough recruiting
process means that a positive result
should occur
but there are several variables that
can occur at offer time. Companies
(like yours)
recognize that it is very expensive
to lose valuable employees. Not only
will
they lose a key employee but moral
suffers, projects suffer, schedules
suffer and
customers lose as well. Hiring, training
and assimilating
a new person will cost money and time.
Counteroffers
are often an inevitable and unsatisfactory
choice. At best they disrupt the dynamics
between company and employee at worst they
offer a temporary fix to an inevitable
result.
A professional
recruiter will anticipate and discourage
acceptance of a counter offer. He will
also anticipate any final concerns an individual
may have about accepting an offer, negotiating
salary and benefits and guiding an individual
through resignation and acceptance.
In short, a
thorough recruiter will be able to successfully
conclude the offer and acceptance more
effectively because of the relationship
in the hiring process.
